School Council Meeting - Jan 25

We want to let you know that our next School Council meeting is coming up on Thursday, January 25th from 6pm-7pm in the library. 

Being active in the Aurora Grove School Council is an excellent way for you to get more involved in your child's education and meet fellow parents. 

Parent voice is important to us. School Council serves as an opportunity for the school to share details on the things happening in the building, but it also allows parents to provide input into some decisions that the Principal, Vice-Principal, and staff are making. It provides a chance for parents to ask questions and to support the school with community engagement, events, and fundraising. 

We hope you'll join us!

School Council Update

Yesterday, we hosted our first School Council meeting of the year. The turnout was wonderful and we truly enjoyed connecting with and getting to know all the community members in attendance as we discussed the purpose of school councils, fundraising goals, school updates and potential future school-wide initiatives. 

Elections were also held at the meeting.

• Nellie Mirashi & Daisy Xiao were elected as Co-Chairs
• Sana Naqvi was elected as Treasurer
• Sana Naqvi and Teenna tsang were elected as Co-Secretaries. 
• Emily Qu, Johnny Cheung, Dirusha Khushal, Jasmine Gongye were elected as Voting Members

We want to thank all the parents who attended the meeting, and we encourage everyone to consider becoming involved in School Council. You don't need to be an elected member of the School Council to get involved. Please feel free to just come and listen to the discussion.

Tentative dates for future School Council meetings will be shared soon!
